Getting Started with Sitecore Agentic Studio

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming how organizations create and manage digital experiences. While many AI tools focus on generating content or answering questions, the next evolution is AI that can perform tasks, follow workflows, and help automate everyday business processes.

To support this shift, Sitecore introduced Agentic Studio, a workspace within Sitecore AI that enables teams to work with AI agents, build workflows, and automate content and marketing activities.

Agentic Studio gained significant attention during SUGCON India 2026 through various sessions presented by community members, highlighting how AI agents and workflows can be used to support content creation, marketing activities, and business processes.

This article introduces the core concepts of Agentic Studio and provides an overview of its key components to help teams get started.

What is Agentic AI?

Most AI tools operate using a simple prompt-and-response model. A user asks a question or provides instruction, and the AI generates a response.

Agentic AI takes this concept a step further.

Instead of performing a single task, AI agents can work toward a broader goal by completing multiple related activities. They can gather information, create content, review results, and interact with other agents as part of a workflow.

For example, an AI agent can:

  • Research a topic
  • Create a blog outline
  • Generate content
  • Review and improve the content
  • Translate it into another language

This approach makes AI more useful for business processes that involve multiple steps rather than isolated tasks.

Why Sitecore Introduced Agentic Studio

Marketing and content teams often spend significant time on repetitive activities such as:

  • Researching topics
  • Creating content
  • Reviewing content
  • Translating content
  • Planning campaigns
  • Monitoring industry trends

Agentic Studio is designed to help automate these activities using AI-powered workflows.

Instead of relying on multiple tools, teams can use Agentic Studio as a central workspace to create, manage, and execute AI-assisted processes. The objective is to reduce manual effort and allow teams to focus on higher-value work.

Components of Agentic Studio

Agentic Studio is built around several key capabilities, including Chat, Agents, Flows, Signals, and Spaces.

Chat

Chat provides a conversational interface for interacting with AI using natural language prompts. It can be used for tasks such as generating content, summarizing information, brainstorming ideas, answering questions, and exploring topics.

For users getting started with Agentic Studio, Chat offers a simple way to experience AI capabilities without creating agents or workflows.

Agents

Agents are AI-powered assistants designed to perform specific tasks.

Examples include:

  • Content Generator
  • Translator
  • Research Assistant
  • Campaign Planner
  • Content Reviewer

We can use Sitecore's prebuilt agents or create custom agents tailored to specific business requirements. We can also Edit or Duplicate the available Agents.

Flows

Flows enable multiple agents to work together as part of a process.

A typical content creation workflow might look like:

Research Agent

Content Writer

Content Reviewer

Translator

Rather than manually triggering each step, flows automate the sequence and coordinate the activities between agents.

Signals

Signals help identify useful information and emerging trends.

They can assist teams in:

  • Discovering content opportunities
  • Monitoring industry developments
  • Tracking competitors
  • Identifying market trends

By surfacing relevant insights, Signals support better decision-making and content planning.

Spaces

Spaces provide a way to organize work within Agentic Studio.

They can be used to:

  • Store outputs generated by agents
  • Manage projects
  • Organize workflows
  • Support collaboration across teams

As the number of agents and workflows grows, Spaces help keep work organized and accessible.

Supporting Navigation and Governance Layers

In addition to its core capabilities, Agentic Studio includes supporting features that help manage execution, permissions, and governance.

Actions

Actions enable agents to interact with Sitecore products and connected systems.

Using Actions, agents can perform tasks such as:

  • Creating or updating content
  • Triggering workflows
  • Retrieving analytics information
  • Updating assets
  • Interacting with external systems through APIs

Actions allow agents to move beyond content generation and perform real operational tasks.

Each action can be configured with permissions, inputs, outputs, and approval requirements to ensure activities remain secure and controlled.

Users

The Users section provides access and permission management.

Organizations can define:

  • Who can create agents
  • Who can modify workflows
  • Who can execute agents
  • Who can manage the platform

This helps ensure that AI capabilities are used within established governance and operational guidelines.

Getting Started

Before using Agentic Studio, ensure that:

  • Sitecore AI is enabled for the organization
  • Appropriate permissions have been assigned
  • Agentic Studio is available within the Sitecore environment

Exploring Prebuilt Agents

To get a better understanding of how Agentic Studio works, I explored two of the prebuilt agents: Content Generator and Snackable Content Generator.

Content Generator

The first agent I tried was the Content Generator. It helps create content from simple prompts. For example, using a prompt such as:

Create a technical blog outline about Sitecore Agentic Studio for developers.

the agent quickly generated a structured outline that could be reviewed, refined, and expanded into a complete article.

This was a simple but effective way to understand how agents can assist with content creation tasks.

Snackable Content Generator

Another agent I explored was the Snackable Content Generator.

This agent can take existing content as input and transform it into shorter formats suitable for social media and other channels. After uploading content, it was able to generate a LinkedIn post complete with formatting and hashtags.

Some of the capabilities include:

  • Accepting content as a file input

  • Generating LinkedIn and social media-ready content

  • Creating hashtags and post formatting

  • Producing output in text, JSON, or HTML formats

This demonstrated how existing content can be repurposed quickly for different platforms, helping reduce the effort involved in creating channel-specific content.

Looking Ahead

Agentic Studio represents more than a content generation tool. Its broader value lies in the ability to automate workflows and coordinate activities across multiple AI agents.

Areas worth exploring further include:

  • Prebuilt agents
  • Custom agent creation
  • Multi-agent workflows
  • Marketer MCP integration
  • XM Cloud content automation

As AI continues to evolve, platforms such as Agentic Studio provide new opportunities to streamline processes, improve productivity, and support digital experience teams.

Conclusion

Sitecore Agentic Studio provides a simple way to start working with AI-powered agents and workflows.

Whether you're a developer, marketer, content author, or architect, it offers new possibilities for automating repetitive tasks and improving productivity.

This was my first step into Agentic Studio, and I'm excited to explore more of its capabilities in the coming weeks.
